The Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) is looking for a Grant Writer


The grant writer will develop donor-ready materials and will assist the development team with the full grant cycle (LOIs, proposals, reports and ongoing correspondence with donors and prospects). and work with leading policy experts to translate their ideas, visions and work plans into compelling opportunities for philanthropic investment in the future of Israeli democracy.

As the IDI Grant Writer, You Will:

- Report to IDI’s Director of Development in Israel and to the IDI Foundation’s Managing Director in the U.S.
- Work with senior scholars and policy experts to translate their ideas, visions and work plans into compelling opportunities for philanthropic investment
- Have full responsibility for a wide range of grant proposals and reports on a variety of research and policy topics concerning Israeli democracy
- Develop marketing and communication materials.

- You are passionate about Israel and its future as a Jewish and democratic state
- You are a clear thinker who likes to grapple with big ideas, pays attention to detail and is adept at abstract conceptualization and nuanced presentation
- You are an outstanding writer
- English is your mother tongue and you are fluent in Hebrew (with especially strong reading comprehension)
- You have at least 2 years of grant writing experience
- You have some experience in marketing communications and storytelling
- You are able to meet multiple deadlines and work well under pressure
- You are a strong team player
- You are an entrepreneurial self-starter who can compile raw data from a variety of sources and move forward even in the absence of detailed instructions 
- You get along with computers (including Office, Excel, on-line grant platforms, and Salesforce)
